    Special properties of graphite powder

    (1) High temperature resistance type of graphite powder: the melting point of graphite powder is 3850±50 °C, the boiling point is 4250 °C, even if it is burned by ultra-high temperature arc, the weight loss is very small, and the thermal expansion coefficient is also very small. The strength of graphite strengthens with increasing temperature, doubling at 2000 °C.

    (2) Electrical and thermal conductivity: The electrical conductivity of graphite powder is one hundred times higher than that of general non-metallic minerals. The thermal conductivity exceeds that of metal materials such as steel, iron, and lead. The thermal conductivity decreases with increasing temperature, and even at extremely high temperatures, graphite becomes an insulator.

    (3) Graphite powder lubricity: The lubricating performance of graphite depends on the size of graphite scales, the larger the scale, the smaller the friction coefficient, and the better the lubrication performance.

    (4) Chemical stability: graphite powder has good chemical stability at room temperature, and can resist acid, alkali and organic solvent corrosion.

    (5) Plasticity: graphite powder has good toughness and can be formed into very thin flakes for years.

    (6) Thermal shock resistance of graphite powder: graphite powder can withstand the drastic change of temperature without damage when used at room temperature, and when the temperature suddenly changes, the volume of graphite does not change much and will not produce cracks.

    (6) Good mechanical strength: Compared with other materials, before graphite reaches 2700 °C, its tensile strength, compressive strength and flexural strength increase with the increase of temperature.

    (7) Density: 1.6-1.9g/cm3 is equivalent to 1/4 of iron or 1/5 of copper. Can be used for large electrodes.

    (8) Fast electro-etching processing speed: 1.5-3 times that of copper, rough beating is more advantageous.

    (9) Small electrode consumption: according to different electrical conditions, it is 1/3-1/5 of copper.

    (10) Fast machining speed: graphite has good machinability and can be made into complex shapes and high-precision parts. The cutting resistance is 1/4 of copper, and the processing energy is twice that of copper.
