Request a quoteThe function of carbon graphite in machine equipment parts with applicability has been a matter for nearly a hundred years and is closely related to the process of the industrial revolution. The graphite industry itself also depends on the progress of the industrial revolution and has a wide range of applications. Carbon graphite also appears in other fields . Carbon is widely present in the earth’s crust in various forms and can be used after a little refining, such as carbon graphite, coal, natural graphite, earthy graphite, and carbon black which are formed by the incomplete combustion of heavy oil and methane.
Wide applications of carbon graphite
There are many applications related with carbon graphite, graphite plays an important role in it, as followings:
(1)Conductive material:In the electrical industry, it is used to manufacture electrodes, brushes, carbon rods, carbon tubes, positive electrodes of mercury positive current devices, carbon graphite gaskets, telephone parts, coatings for TV picture tubes, etc.
(2) Wear-resistant lubricating material:Many equipment for conveying corrosive media widely use carbon graphite materials to make piston cups, sealing rings and bearings. They do not need to add lubricating oil during operation, so carbon graphite is often used as a lubricant in the machinery industry. Lubricating oil often cannot be used under the conditions of high speed, high temperature and high pressure, while carbon graphite wear-resistant material can work at high sliding speed at -200 ~ 2000 ℃ temperature without lubricating oil.
(3) High temperature metallurgical materials :Because carbon graphite has a small thermal expansion coefficient and can withstand changes in rapid cooling and rapid heating, it can be used as a mold for glassware. After using carbon graphite, ferrous metal can obtain castings with accurate dimensions and a high yield of smooth surface. It can be used without processing or a little processing. , thus saving a lot of metal.
(4) Refractory material:In the iron and steel industry, carbon-graphite refractories are used for refractory linings of electric arc blast furnaces and oxygen converters, ladle refractory linings, etc.; carbon-graphite refractories are mainly integral casting materials, magnesia-carbon bricks and aluminum-carbon refractories. Carbon graphite is also used in powder metallurgy and metal casting film-forming materials. Carbon graphite powder is added to molten steel to increase the carbon content of steel, so that high carbon steel has many excellent properties.
(5) Other industry materials :Carbon graphite is also a polishing agent and rust inhibitor for glass and paper in light industry, and is an indispensable raw material for the manufacture of pencils, inks, black paint, inks, synthetic diamonds and diamonds. It is a good energy-saving and environmentally friendly material, and other countries have used it as car batteries. With the development of modern science and technology and industry, the application field of carbon graphite is still expanding, and it has become an important raw material for new composite materials in the high-tech field, and plays an important role in the development of global industrial science and technology.
Versatile advantages of carbon graphite
Our carbon graphites take advantage of other normal graphite, which are shown as follow:
(1) The density of carbon graphite is 1/5 of that of copper, which can effectively reduce the burden of the machine tool (EDM) when large-scale machinery is subjected to electric discharge machining; it is more suitable for the application of large-scale molds.
(2) There is no burr; after the copper electrode is processed, it needs to be manually trimmed to remove the burr, while the carbon graphite has no burr after processing, which saves a lot of cost and makes it easier to automate production.
(3) Easy to grind and polish; since the cutting resistance of carbon graphite is only 1/5 of that of copper, it is easier to grind and polish by hand.
(4) The material cost is lower and the price is more stable; due to the increase in the price of copper in recent years, the price of isotropic graphite is now lower than that of copper. Under the same volume, the price of carbon graphite is 30% to 60% lower than that of copper. %, and the price is more stable. Therefore, carbon graphite gradually replaced copper as the preferred material for electrodes.
The Franli factory has made breakthroughs in the research and development and industrial development of high-end graphite materials such as high-purity carbon graphite and graphite anode materials. It is found that most Chinese enterprises are increasingly mature in carbon and graphite technology, and have mastered the chemical acid-base method and physical high-temperature method to produce carbon and graphite, and the carbon content of the products can reach 99.99%, which has reached the international advanced level. The carbon graphite from the Franli factory enables post-processing products to save a lot of metal materials, reduce costs and enhance the overall value.
