According to Xinlun information, the import volume of flake graphite in China in July 2020 was only about 31000 tons, down 84.28% year-on-year compared with last year, and an increase of 63.16% in June.
According to the distribution of importing countries, the increase of domestic flake graphite import in July mainly came from Mozambique and Vietnam, of which the import volume from Mozambique was about 1500 tons, up 14.12% from June; About 028 tons of flake graphite were imported from Vietnam, and the import volume was zero in June. In addition, the import volume from Madagascar in July was about 13000 tons, down 26.42% from June.

According to graphite exporters, since May and June, the market demand for refractories in Europe has increased significantly. Meanwhile, the demand for refractories in Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, and other countries has increased significantly. As a result, the export of flake graphite to these countries has increased significantly. The United States is mainly affected by the trade war between China and the United States, and the export volume has declined significantly. India is affected by Sino-Indian relations, and the difficulty of customs declaration has increased. On the whole, the current export situation of flake graphite is gradually improving.
Since August, the domestic and foreign power battery, two-wheel electric vehicle, and energy storage markets have been speeding up, and the negative electrode material market has opened the “golden nine silver ten” mode. According to the statistics of Xinsuo information, the output of domestic negative electrode materials is expected to increase by 10% in September, among which the negative electrode amount of natural graphite for energy storage and two-wheel electric vehicle market is expected to increase significantly, As a result, the domestic demand of spheroidized graphite for – 195 flake graphite will further increase, and the focus of market negotiation will gradually stabilize.
