Graphene, as the thinnest, toughest and best conductive nano material found at present. It is a two-dimensional crystal composed of carbon atoms stripped from graphite material with only one layer of atom thickness. Known as “black gold”, it is “the king of new materials”. Scientists even predicted that graphene “will completely change the 21st century”.
Request a quoteGraphene is used relatively frequently in industry and can also achieve high-quality results. At present, the best-selling products of the Franli factory are graphene powder and graphene slurry, as well as graphene powder and graphene slurry of different specifications. The market prices of different specifications are naturally different.
Graphene’s recent price market
According to the market situation in 2020, some graphenes with low purity and poor quality are tens of yuan each. And some high-purity graphene, the most expensive can buy more than 5,000 yuan per gram. Graphene is a two-dimensional carbon nanomaterial. Grams are currently used in the market as a unit of measurement. There are many models of graphene in the Franli factory, and the parameters of each model are different. The common ones are single-layer graphene, few-layer graphene, and multi-layer graphene. The purity is generally 95 to 99.5%. Many graphene oxides are sold as graphene on the market. The cost of graphene oxide is low, but it is not graphene.
In the high-purity graphene market in 2022, some manufacturers even offer a price of up to 26,000 yuan per gram of graphene, and high-purity graphene with poor quality is also sold for nearly 10,000 yuan per gram. It can also be seen from the price that the performance and function of graphene materials are not trivial, and this is indeed the case.
The reason for the high price of graphene
①Graphene has very good optical properties. Absorptivity is about 2.3% over a wide wavelength range and appears almost transparent. In the range of several layers of graphene thickness, the absorptivity increases by 2.3% per layer thickness. Large-area graphene films also have excellent optical properties, which vary with graphene thickness. This is the unusual low-energy electronic structure of single-layer graphene.
②Graphene conducts heat and electricity efficiently, it is also very conductive, and it is almost transparent. Not only does it have incredible physical properties, it is widely cited as the strongest material ever created on a per-weight basis. For example, graphene, with its small atoms, could enable transistors in processors to be packed more tightly and allow many electronics industries to take a big step forward.
③Graphene reduces losses. After graphene is folded in multiple layers, its physical properties will undergo very peculiar changes, and it will be very close to a superconductor, which presents a new possibility for China, a powerhouse. For the production and life of modern human beings, the most frequently used and most commonly used energy is undoubtedly electric energy. Whether it is a variety of household appliances or large machinery near a factory, it often needs electricity to drive, and because of urban planning and other constraints, power plants generally cannot be directly installed in cities. In other ways, the power supply with relatively low loss is transported, but the power loss of more than 3% still inevitably occurs.
Graphene in everyday life
The main raw material of lithium batteries used in new energy vehicles is graphene, in order to better expand the charging capacity and improve the charging efficiency. Not only the battery industry, but even in the fields of medicine and aerospace, the role of graphene can be fully demonstrated, so it is reasonable that the price continues to soar. Now not only batteries, but also furniture, masks, glasses, thermos cups, and even masks use graphene materials, and the use of trace amounts of graphene will not cause harm to the human body.
Graphene has very favorable conditions, but there is still a long way to go from the laboratory to the market. As an industrial technology, graphene still has many difficulties that have not yet been overcome. The graphene products obtained so far are not complete single crystals, but composites of polycrystals. The Franli factory had to manually intervene to conduct more in-depth research and achieve a qualitative leap in the future preparation technology. However, compared with the same industry, the quality of graphene in franli factories is ahead of other companies, and the price of graphene will also be more favorable than other companies.
