White graphite is another name for hexagonal boron nitride. White ink is the simplest boron-nitrogen polymer. Similar to the hexagonal carbon network in graphite, the nitrogen and boron in hexagonal boron nitride form hexagonal network layers that overlap to form crystals. The crystal is similar to graphite, diamagnetic and highly anisotropic, with very similar crystal parameters. But the advantages of h-BN do not stop there. It is not only a good conductor of heat, but also a typical electrical insulator, with a conductivity of 1016~1018ω/cm at room temperature (1014~106ω/cm at 1000°C). Dielectric constant 3~5. The dielectric loss is (2~8)*10-4, and the breakdown strength is twice that of Al2O3, which can reach 30~40kV/mm. It is an ideal high-frequency insulation, high-voltage insulation, and high-temperature insulation material.

Application of Boron Nitride (White Graphite)

The various properties of H-BN particles are greatly affected by the purity, and the firing conditions and product post-treatment will directly affect the purity. Therefore, the preparation of high-purity hexagonal boron nitride particles is the premise to ensure its wide application. In different fields, even if the ingredients of the raw materials are the same, the specifications of the raw materials are naturally different due to different uses.

(1) Cosmetic industry: H-BN powder can also be used as a physical pigment in cosmetics. It has excellent coating and adhesion, and the color is white. It can effectively adjust the coating extensibility, skin adhesion, gloss, skin quality, formability and usability of the product. .

(2) High temperature lubricant: H-BN has excellent high temperature lubricity. When used as a lubricant, it can be dispersed in heat-resistant grease, water or solvent. Spray on the friction surface and form a dry pattern until the solvent evaporates. Since H-BN does not wet or interact with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, it is often used in occasions that resist corrosion of molten metals, such as melting and evaporating financial crucibles, boats, and liquid financial delivery pipes.

(3) Thermally conductive filler
BN has been widely used as a filler in thermally conductive composite materials, which can solve the problem that thermally conductive materials are in contact with electrical components during operation and require high-resistance materials to avoid short circuits. By blending 2D boron nitride nanosheets with 1D cellulose nanofibers, the thermal conductivity of the composite is as high as 180 W/(m K), the highest so far.

(4) High temperature resistant coating: The apparent chemical inertness of boron nitride at high temperatures makes it possible to use boron nitride coatings to protect materials such as aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloys from high-temperature oxidation. Boron nitride coatings protect refractory materials and ceramic vessels from oxidation even at temperatures up to 1273K.

(5) Release agent: Ordinary lubricating oil, Fusu resin, graphite, etc. will lose their lubricating effect under certain high temperature environment. However, using solid lubricant boron nitride as raw material, the super high temperature resistant mold release agent can still maintain excellent lubricity and mold release at extremely high temperatures, so it is suitable for diamond tool molding, high temperature hardening resin molding, sintered metal molding, aluminum Frame pressing, glass molding, die-casting demoulding, etc.

(6) High insulation and high thermal conductivity ceramic products: Boron nitride ceramics have good heat resistance, thermal stability, thermal conductivity, and high-temperature dielectric strength, and are ideal heat dissipation materials and high-temperature insulation materials. Due to its good chemical stability, it can resist the erosion of most molten metals; the product has low hardness (Mohs strength 2), and the processing accuracy can reach 1/100mm. It is often used in the manufacture of crucibles for melting semiconductors and high-temperature containers for metallurgy, semiconductor heat dissipation insulation parts, high-temperature bearings, thermocouple casings, and glass forming molds.
