Application
Depending on its quality, petroleum coke can be used in industries such as graphite, smelting and chemical industry, etc
Petroleum coke, as a byproduct of petroleum, is produced in the process of petroleum processing, that is, the crude oil is distilled to separate light and heavy oil, and the heavy oil is converted into petroleum coke by hot cracking. If petroleum coke can be obtained directly from petroleum processing, then the petroleum coke is raw coke or ordinary coke. Petroleum coke has irregular shape, dark gray or black, porous structure and metallic luster.
Request a quotePetroleum coke in the calcination generally control the temperature at 1300 °C, can improve the strength of its coke, conductivity and other physical and chemical properties, usually the environment, product and other control, Franli factory through the glass factory needs to burn it understanding, the effect on the product example. Petroleum coke calcination is an important process in the coal process, and the calcination operation is to preheat the coal raw materials at high temperature under the condition of isolating the air.
In the calcination process, the structure and element composition of various carbon-containing raw materials undergo a series of depth changes, thereby improving their physical and chemical properties. We know that the calcination quality of it has a great impact on the quality of the product and the technical indicators of each process, so ensuring the calcination quality of raw materials is an important prerequisite for the quality assurance of finished products.
Potential applications for petroleum coke
(1) Fuel: It has high calorific value and good abrasiveness, and can be used as fuel petroleum coke in power plants and cement factories, glass factories and other production plants, and stabilizes the quality of kilns and products.
(2) Raw materials: used in aluminum plants and steel plants or carbon plants as raw materials, whether as raw materials for anode paste and artificial graphite electrodes or as raw materials for the production of carbides, it is necessary to control its sulfur content and volatilization, and the metal content of petroleum coke for making electrode raw materials should also be controlled. The development of new petroleum coke anode materials, including batch preparation of petroleum coke-based carbon nano anode materials, and new coke cathode and anode materials matching the new battery system.
The effect of petroleum coke on kilns
Due to the long burning time of petroleum coke powder solid particles, it is easy to make part of the insufficiently burned coke powder rush into the heat storage chamber for combustion, resulting in high temperature in the heat storage chamber. In the high-temperature flue gas, it is easy to cause erosion to the magnesia brick in the heat storage chamber, and the magnesia brick will appear foaming, deformation or collapse after erosion.
The higher the sulfur content in it, the greater the damage to the glass furnace and ancillary equipment. The lattice body is seriously eroded, which increases the scale and frequency of kiln hot repair. Harmful impurities in petroleum coke are also easy to block and corrode all equipment configured in the flue, increasing the difficulty of end treatment such as waste heat power generation and desulfurization, especially in the middle and late stages of the kiln, the heat storage chamber lattice is seriously blocked, the kiln air pressure is particularly high, and some will be difficult to reduce down, which has a very adverse impact on the stability of glass production and kiln safety.
Effect of petroleum coke on glass quality
(1) Glass transmittance: compared with other types of fuel combustion, the combustion stability of petroleum coke is poor, when petroleum coke burner is mixed into glass liquid, it has a severe and heavy impact on the quality of glass, and yellow glass or green glass and other phenomena will appear, affecting the whiteness of the glass. The ash of petroleum coke contains iron, vanadium and other elements, which fall into the glass liquid after combustion, making the glass color after burning petroleum coke darker, which will significantly reduce the light transmittance on the glass.
(2) Glass bubble defect: due to the fluctuation of the combustion status of petroleum coke powder, the petroleum coke without combustion falls on the batch in the chemical area, resulting in aggravated melting reduction bubbles, which is not conducive to the clarification of glass liquid, and the number of micro-bubbles in glass products is significantly more than that of other fuels.
(3) Temperature control: The water content in it powder and the fluidization state of the pipeline are relatively difficult to control, and the fuel flow fluctuates from time to time, which is unfavorable to the temperature system of stable glass melting. The use of petroleum coke causes large temperature fluctuations and frequent flow adjustments, making it difficult to control the temperature and indicators of key links. The glass liquid flow is easy to produce disorder, so that the quality defects of glass often increase for no reason, affecting the economic benefits of the enterprise.
At present, the quality of petroleum coke is difficult to control stably, but at present, some glass production lines still use it as a combustion raw material. The petroleum coke quality of the Franli company is continuously researched and developed, which can be applied to all production stages and save other high-cost combustion materials.
At present, heavy oil and natural gas are more ideal fuels in glass production, but the price of heavy oil fuel is too high, and some enterprises currently use coke oven gas, furnace gas, petroleum coke and other fuels, which has the advantage of low price and production stability can also meet the requirements.
